Request for Proposals: Participatory Research for Within-District School Resource Equity

The National Center for Youth Law (NCYL) is excited to announce a groundbreaking opportunity for organizations committed to educational equity. We are seeking partners for participatory research projects aimed at addressing resource inequity within school districts across the United States.

Join Our Mission to Transform Education

  • Purpose: Fund participatory research (PR) to improve equity in resource distribution within school districts, focusing on supporting low-income students, students of color, and English Learners.
  • Scope: Support 1-4 PR partnerships to develop projects that involve both research and action, centering youth voices.

Funding Highlights

  • Award Amount: Up to $15,000 per project, plus NCYL's technical support for research planning.
  • Eligible Organizations: Nonprofits with 501(c3) status experienced in policy advocacy, organizing, or research, and have met insurance requirements. 
  • Use of Funds: Honoraria for participants, training or other capacity building, research materials and expenses, and communications materials. 
  • Key Dates
    Application Deadline: March 15, 2024
    Project Start: March 2024
    Important Milestones: From research question submission by April 30, 2024, to final report due by May 23, 2025.
