Jennie Hedges is a Program Director with the Compassionate Education Systems team in Arizona. Jennie has the privilege of leading an incredible team of Education Liaisons who passionately work alongside youth experiencing foster care to help them and their teams overcome educational obstacles. Jennie also focuses on deepening relationships with community and state-level organizations in an effort to transform systems impacting the lives of youth in care.

Jennie has more than a decade of experience serving youth in foster care, leading teams of unique professionals, cultivating emotionally safe working environments, and facilitating trainings and workshops throughout the state of Arizona. She began her career with National Center for Youth Law in 2017 as an Education Liaison, following her work with various local non-profit programs in Arizona within the fields of behavioral health and child welfare.

Jennie and her wife were foster parents for several years and now live a beautifully chaotic life in Tucson with their amazing children and dogs. Outside of work, Jennie loves reading, writing, and having conversations with her houseplants as if they can hear her. Her friends describe her as someone who will always be in their corner to cheer them on and someone who always has the best snacks!
