David Hinojosa headshot

David Hinojosa is Co-Director of Litigation at the National Center for Youth Law, where he helps guide the organization's litigation strategy to protect the interests and rights of children and youth.

David has practiced law for more than 25 years, mostly in civil rights impact litigation, policy and advocacy. He previously served as Deputy Assistant Attorney General within the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division, and before that he directed the Educational Opportunities Project at the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. David has also served as Southwest Regional Counsel for MALDEF and led IDRA's national policy work and equity assistance center. David has tried several impact cases and has argued before the U.S. Supreme Court, and the state supreme courts of Texas and Colorado.

David, a veteran of the Air Force and a first-generation college student, earned his JD from the University of Texas School of Law and his Bachelor's from New Mexico State University.
