Since 2018, NCYL’s JusticeEd Initiative in Santa Clara County has provided innovative, individualized education case management and coaching to probation-involved students and their caregivers to support academic success.

We are pleased to share that in the first two years of our program, an independent evaluation of our program showed there was a positive correlation between the length of time students participated in the JusticeEd Program and their academic progress.

The evaluation, summarized in a JusticeEd Two Year Report, demonstrated JusticeEd students improved credit attainment by 10 percent year over year and that they experienced:

  • Social-emotional growth,
  • Decreases in school suspensions,
  • And no expulsion recommendations during the period of program participation.

We look forward to continuing to monitor our progress and share our success as our program grows and continues to partner with probation-involved students to achieve their academic goals!
