Maiya Werba

Maiya Elise Werba (they/she) is a Litigation Fellow at the National Center for Youth Law on the General Litigation Team. Maiya assists the team across a variety of topic areas, including school-based issues, disability related discrimination, and LGBTQ+ issues. They participate in community outreach, legal research, and any other support required to help NCYL in fighting for youth justice. 

Maiya graduated from The University of Texas School of Law in May 2025 and is incredibly happy to have their fellowship at NCYL. Prior to law school, they worked as a teacher in the UK. During law school they were a research assistant for clinical Professor Lia Sifuentes Davis, a teaching assistant for Professor Shavonne Henderson, and an excellent pet sitter. They spent their summers in law school working at Disability Rights Advocates and The Arc.
