She provides leadership and support in developing and implementing advocacy and community capacity-building campaigns in partnership with communities, particularly youth. She is currently working with community organizations all over California, from Siskiyou County to Los Angeles.

She previously led constituent correspondence for Congresswoman Barbara Lee, where she acted as a liaison between the Congresswoman and constituents, ensuring that their voices were heard on critical issues. Klarissa's career path took a unique turn when she spent two years in Spain, teaching English to students ranging from 3 to 18 years old. She is passionate about creating a world where all people feel secure, safe, and seen.

Born and raised in the East Bay by a single mom, Klarissa is proud to represent her Mexican roots and is constantly searching for ways to connect to her community.
