Psychosocial Interventions for Traumatized Youth in the Juvenile Justice System:
Research, Evidence Base, and Clinical/Legal Challenges

Psychosocial interventions for posttraumatic stress reactions increasingly are recognized as a key component in the provision of juvenile justice services. This article provides an overview of the research; clinical and legal successes; and challenges emerging from the development, evaluation, and implementation of trauma-focused psychosocial therapeutic interventions (TF-PTI) in juvenile justice systems.
