Kendra Lizardo joined NCYL in November 2020 as a Program Associate, supporting the Reproductive Health Equity Project for Foster Youth. She earned her Bachelors and Masters in Social Work from Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York. Lizardo started her career as an intern on Rikers Island, where she facilitated programs for the adolescent population. Upon graduating, she then joined NYC Health & Hospitals as a Community Liaison and advocated for equitable health services on behalf of young people in the NYC jail system. Prior to joining the NCYL team, she transitioned to community programming as a Trauma Support Manager for a restorative justice organization. Lizardo applies her intersectional experiences and educational background to her role and is particularly passionate about providing alternative methods to healing within the community.
