Building the Capacity of Community Based Organizations

Families of students who are having problems reenrolling or who have been pushed out to a Disciplinary Alternative Education Programs (DAEPs) often seek help from local community based organizations. We will provide these organizations resources and training so they can more effectively assist these students to get back into school. We will build their capacity to engage with probation agencies and school districts at the policy level. Together, and with the help of a coordinated media campaign, we will ensure there is the necessary political will to improve local policy and practice.
