Rachel Smith is an Equal Justice Works Fellow sponsored by Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP. She works on the Immigration team. Rachel will engage in investigation, litigation, advocacy, and collaboration with children’s legal service providers to protect the reproductive rights of youth detained by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). 

Rachel graduated from Berkeley Law in 2023. During law school, she worked on litigation supporting immigrants’ and prisoners’ rights at the ACLU of San Diego and Imperial Counties, the National Immigrant Justice Center, and in Berkeley Law’s Ninth Circuit Practicum. Prior to law school, Rachel worked with people in immigration detention at Brooklyn Defender Services and Aldea - The People’s Justice Center. 

Outside of work, Rachel loves exploring Northern California through hiking, kayaking, and camping.
